Confidence or Egotistical?

So we have to answers these questions in our first hour class and I always have a lot to say about them. Therefore I will be blogging these questions and my answers. Starting with this question, "How can you be confident without being egotistical? What helps you keep your ego in check?"

You can be confident without being egotistical by not thinking you are the best. Being confident is a good thing, Without confidence in yourself you can develop insecurities.Being egotistical is thinking you are the best out there, and nobody can beat you. You can be confident in who you are and what you do. It's okay to know you are good at things. For example, I know I am good at volleyball (this is confidence), but I do not think I am the best volleyball player out there. I know that I am a good setter, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Something that helps me keep my ego in check is knowing that there is always somebody better than me. No matter what I am doing, I am not the best. That is an important think, I think, to keep in mind for everyone. There is always someone better than you, that is just a fact of life. It does not matter how good you think you are or how good I think I am, I am not the best and either are you.
